Today we learn how to make Brown Rice Pulao.
Brown Rice is whole grain rice full of fiber & fiber help you to reduce weight & manage healthy cholesterol brown rice is far better than white rice. Although it takes more time to cook than white rice. This pulao is loaded with vegetables that make it more tastier.
Ingredients For Brown Rice:-
1 cup brown rice (soaked for half an hour)
1 cup broccoli (diced & boiled)
½ cup of peas boiled
1 cup onion chopped
1 cup spring onion
1 cup carrot sliced
Dry masalas (bay leaf, clove, black & green cardamom, cinnamon)
Salt according to taste
1 tbsp red chili powder
1 tbsp coriander powder
1 tbsp oil
½ tbsp cumin seeds
A pinch of asafoetida
coriander leaves for garnish
First of all, Heat oil in a pan.
After heating adds cumin seeds, hing & all dry masalas.
Let them crackle.
Now add onions & cook them till soften.
Add remaining vegetables in a pan & add red chili powder.
Add coriander powder & salt & mix well.
Cover the pan with lid & cook vegetables for 5 minutes.
Now add soaked brown rice & cook it with covered lid for 15 to 20 minutes.
Garnish rice with coriander & spring onions you can also add lemon to enhance its taste.
