Today we learn how to make veggie Burger.
Burger is favorite among kids & youngsters because it tastes so good. There are many food chains who are offering best & yummy burgers but according to Indian moms they always want to feed their children’s with homemade food so this recipe can help those moms and no doubt homemade burger is better & much cheaper than the ones from the fast food centers. Also, outside food is not good for health for the reason that moms are concerned about their kids. I try to make this recipe as simple as possible so it takes less time to make and saves you from the extra efforts. some people also like to fry bun but I prefer as it is rather than frying. Finally, here is the step by step recipe for the veggie burger.
Ingredients for Veggie Burger:-
For veg patty
3 to 4 large potato boiled
Salt according to taste
½ tbsp Black Pepper
1 cup Chopped Coriander
Oil for frying
For patty batter
2 tbsp refined wheat flour (maida)
2 tbsp cornstarch
1/4 tbsp red chili (for color)
water for mixing
for breadcrumbs coating
4 to 5 bread slices made into breadcrumbs (cut the bread into 4 pieces & grind in the mixture.)
for burger sauce
2 spoons vegetarian eggless mayonnaise
1 spoon ketchup
½ tbsp red chili
for burger toppings
1 onion thinly sliced
1 tomato thinly sliced
cucumber thinly sliced
Method to make Veggie Burger:
Vegetable patty mixture
- First of all, rinse & boil potato (for hassle-free boiling I used to boil potato in the microwave just rinse the potatoes cut into half put in a poly bag & microwave it for 5 minutes.)
Peel & mash the potatoes when they get cool.
Add salt, black pepper & chopped coriander & mix well.
Keep aside this mixture until we prepare the patty batter.
Preparing batter for patty
First of all, add 2 tbsp of refined wheat flour in a bowl.
Now add 2 tbsp of cornstarch in it you can also use arrowroot instead of cornstarch.
½ tbsp red chili is added for giving it a good color.
Make a thick batter by adding water in it.
First of all, cut the bread into 4 pieces & grind in the mixture because if you put the whole bread without splitting it can’t be done.
Take the breadcrumbs in a plate or bowl & keep aside so that you can complete the other work.
Preparing Mayonnaise Sauce
First of all, take 2 tbsp of mayonnaise in a bowl
Add 2 tbsp of tomato ketchup also 1 tbsp of red chili in it.
Mix it well & your yummy mayonnaise sauce is ready.
- Keep it aside while we fry patties.
Now its time to fry the patty.
First of all, hot oil in a pan for the frying patty.
Take the patty mixture that we prepare before so that you can make the patty.
Make balls from the mixture and give it round shape you can make your patty large or small according to your burger bun size.
Dip the patty in patty batter that we made before with the flour & cornstarch.
Now cover this patty with breadcrumbs & fry it in hot oil (breadcrumbs take no time to cook & potatoes are already boiled so we just need to give the patty a light golden color & take it out from oil on a napkin).
Keep aside the patty and we start assembling the burger.
First of all slice the burger bun in equal halves.
Spread the mayonnaise sauce on one side.
Place the patty on it.
Top up with thinly sliced veggies like onion, tomato & cucumber. ( you can also use some another thing like cheese or olives in your burger.)
Your burger is almost ready just spread some mayonnaise on another half of the burger bun that makes the burger even more tastier.
Place it on another half of the burger.
Your burger is ready to eat & you can finally serve it with some french fries & also with salad.
Similarly, make more burgers you can also eat these patties with dip alone. I believe almost all the people you know will love to eat burgers.
you can add mayonnaise more or less according to your choice because not everyone is allowed to eat more mayonnaise due to health issues. Use of breadcrumbs makes your patty even more crispy. most noteworthy always fry the patty on high flame & take them out ASAP. Also always use thin slices of vegetables rather than thick. also, am not adding cheese in a burger because it is not so healthy but if you want to add some then maybe you can go for cottage cheese rather then another one. above all, you can make your own toppings for your burger.and one more thing always use fresh salad rather than the stored one.
